Adam’s design skills and uncanny ability to remain calm under pressure have led him to the perfect job handling all aspects of our clients’ website needs. He will be your primary point of contact for all things web, both during the buildout and after your site launches.
Fun Facts: Adam has worked as a dairy farmer, ballroom dance instructor, in childcare, as a bartender, lumberjack, a full-time drummer, and as a caving guide.
Andy has been deep in the design world for over 10 years working as a designer, print manager, creative director, and design director. He helped build a marketing agency startup and has had his hand in every facet of marketing throughout his career. His passion truly lies in the strategy of design – taking an idea, dreaming of its possibilities and seeing it come to life.
Fun Facts: When not elbow deep in Adobe, Andy loves to research and learn, sitting down at his piano, a good (or bad) sci-fi movie, camping year-round (winter too!), and enjoying a big bowl of ice cream. Despite how painful it may be, he is a proud fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
Daeja is our secret weapon on the web team, with an unmatched combination of design wizardry and user empathy. She supports the design and q/a process across all KBD website builds from her new home base in North Carolina.
Fun Facts: Known as our “Sonic” of designers, Daeja is fast, witty, and works hard to provide a decent life for her cat Sunday when she’s not out playing tennis.
A Gen-X coder who fought for Netscape in the First Browser Wars, Edd is a self-taught developer currently building websites for KBD. He has a degree in Motion Picture Production and has probably seen three times as many movies as most normal people.
Fun facts: Edd has a vast library of forgotten product jingles, obscure 80’s song lyrics, and Monty Python skits stored away in his mind palace. He and his wife live with 3 canine dependents that get away with far more than most dogs are allowed.
Greta is a born and raised New Yorker. She has a BA in graphic design from Brigham Young University where she also played Division I softball. As the lead designer for the BYU Store, Greta gained extensive experience in clothing design, branding, marketing, promotional positioning, and visual campaigns. She also interned at CASE agency in New York City and was involved in multiple projects while working with some of the highest-profile clients in the beauty and lifestyle industries. Greta’s passion is powerfully simple design.
Fun Fact: Greta enjoys traveling with her husband, outdoor activities, and anything that involves dogs. She loves a good Agatha Christi novel and is a big fan of the reality TV show Survivor.
Hannah is Katie’s right-hand-woman and fills in all the holes that come with running a busy agency. She has been in the events industry since the start of her career, working both for third-party event teams and as an internal event manager, running events of all sizes from small incentives to 2,000+ attendee conferences. With experiences ranging from managing and building websites to ordering décor and props, to sourcing and working with hotels and vendors, to running the show and working with the AV team, Hannah understands events inside out.
Fun Facts: Outside of work, Hannah loves being outdoors, experiencing new cultures, spending time with her cats, family, and friends along with the occasional binge-watching of the GSN while doing a puzzle.
Jenn has been designing since graduating from Northern Kentucky University with a Visual Communications BFA and Marketing Minor in 2013. As a well-rounded designer, she considers herself a “Creative Anthropologist”. She has worked in a number of design functions ranging from CPG, event, and digital design. Jenn is a Silver Addy award winner and has been published in several publications such as the IU Kelley School of Business magazine for her infographics.
Fun Facts: Jenn loves to sew and custom makes most of her own clothing. Jenn is always up for a challenge and loves any type of competitive activity, especially Axe Throwing and Tennis. She also loves outdoor activities such as kayaking, hiking, and swimming.
Jim honed his design skills in the food, fintech, and e-commerce industries before joining the KBD team. Jim has over ten years of experience in branding, UI, motion, photography, and front-end development, and he loves the challenge of learning new disciplines and solving creative problems.
Fun Facts: Jim is an avid musician, amateur woodworker, occasional road biker, and former band geek. On weekends, Jim can be found on a trail, in a tent, or somewhere by the water with his wife, 1-year-old son, yellow lab, and golden retriever.
Katie has led marketing and design initiatives for enterprise startups and venture funds since starting the firm in 2001, and has helped bring dozens of startups from seed to exit. Katie holds a BFA from Georgetown University, is the founder of the Georgetown Technology Alliance and recipient of the university’s Gaston Award. She serves on the boards of a number of non-profits and early stage startups and speaks regularly as an advocate for women in the technology community.
Fun Facts: Katie loves to bake and spends most of her free time reading cookbooks and testing recipes in the quest for the perfect cookie. Proud fan of 70s music and retro TV shows, much to the chagrin of her husband and two kids.
Hailing from the New Orleans, LA area, Lillie has a flair for adventure, spicy food, and all things music-infused. Her graduate degree is in Visual Communications from the University of Edinburgh’s College of Art, and with a broad background in marketing, design, brand strategy, and relationship management, she has been leading projects for clients across the globe for over twenty years. These days, she lives in Durham—and will happily go into detail to tell you how amazing it is—while striving to ‘Improve the World’ with great processes, amazing design, and a happy smile.
Fun Facts: She loves to cook, started an award winning food column, and has won national recipe awards, but her proudest foodie moment was being the only female and taking the prize at a pizza eating contest in college. She will always, and I mean always, be that gal out on the dance floor.
Maira’s career as a communication designer began in college at Parsons School of Design in New York City. She had the wonderful opportunity to intern in many different design agencies including at MTV Networks in Times Square.
She specializes in simplifying and designing information for presentation decks. Her superpower is a relentless drive to keep solutions simple, both in design and usability. She has been teaching graphic design online since 2014.
Fun Facts: Maira enjoys painting with her family. It can get messy but it’s a passion that has been with her since childhood and it’s both fun and therapeutic.
A team-oriented designer, Matt loves to think outside the box and collaborate with his teammates to come up with killer designs. He brings a client-comes-first attitude and enjoys going the extra mile for them. Matt is a multi-award-winning designer with nearly 20 years of experience, working primarily in the food, retail, health & wellness, and technology industries.
Fun Facts: Matt apologizes in advance for his cat, George.
Matt develops creative strategies, executes design, and supervises a wide range of projects for KBD clients. In his 25- year career he has directed design teams on many successful projects including new company launches, corporate & product branding, web design, print collateral programs and event design. Throughout Matt’s career he has focused on branding hightouch, boutique corporate incentives, large-scale user conferences, corporate meetings/forums and in early 2020 pivoted to virtual events.
Matt has created memorable solutions for Align Technology (Invisalign), Alcatel-Lucent, BCD Meetings & Incentives, Earth Fare, Gap Inc., Genesys Labs, Gigamon Inc., Health Evolution, Intelsat, IT Revolution, PriceWaterhouse Coopers, Whole Foods Market and Zymergen.

A code writing, tech genius since the young age of 6, Rahman is driven by the “process of making.” What started as a love of learning how to create his own video games has transitioned into flawlessly building websites and apps. This plaid-clad, Louisville native brings 20 years of development and entrepreneurial experience to our team.
Fun Facts: Rahman is constantly working on learning another language (currently French), enjoys origami and crossword puzzles, and is a retired rock star. Really!
An early curiosity for graphic design and development started in high school, where Rob was able to build websites and design in computer class. After graduation he jumped into the professional field, learning from creative directors, and early mistakes–luckily nothing catastrophic.
From his entry-level days to his senior roles–he’s led projects for Fortune 500 companies and won awards. Each project never leaves him satisfied, he has a desire to expand his knowledge in multiple fields, and general understanding.
Fun Facts: Rob loves learning Python algorithms/Machine Learning for trading on the stock market, he used to aggressive rollerblade at the skatepark (aka fruitbooter), and he is a cigar aficionado.
Shahla has led more than 25 website builds during her tenure at KBD. Well versed in not just design and development, but user experience and content strategy, Shahla is a natural in all things web and an instrumental leader on our team. She’s the creative brain behind your user experience and screen design. Behind the scenes, she coordinates the design team and the devs to make sure your web project goes smoothly and stays on track.
Fun Facts: Shahla’s name rhymes with “Holla!” A word to the wise, don’t call her Shay-la. She is a lover of clean design, empathetic workflows, stinky cheese, cats, playing music, and bold red wine, and is the founder of the Louisville chapter of Girl Develop It.
Stacey holds a B.A. in environmental engineering from Montana Tech and is a natural problem-solver and storyteller. Prior to KBD, she founded multiple companies and was a founding partner of a micro-accelerator for female founders. She is well-versed in startup methodologies and human-centric marketing strategies and loves helping clients craft digital stories.
Fun Facts: Stacey loves spending time outdoors hiking, biking, paddle boarding, and lives in the beautiful state of Montana. She has 3 cats Babadook, Tabouleh, and Monkey – each was named after revealing their personalities. And yes, Tabouleh is the foodie.
Steve has been developing websites professionally since 1999 and as a hobby since the days of Internet Explorer 3. Steve holds a Masters of Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology. Steve is the creator of ACF Builder, a popular open-source PHP library for defining WordPress Advanced Custom Fields quickly in code.
Steve gets excited by all new tech, which is part of the reason he loves being a web developer so much. The field is constantly evolving. He is also addicted to the instant gratification of creating something and watching it come to life, or finally solving that seemingly impossible problem.
Fun Facts: When not working, Steve likes to bike and play games with his wife and their two boys from their massive Nintendo and board game library.
Hailing from Los Angeles, Tess is slowly adjusting to the weather in Louisville, Kentucky. She received her undergraduate degree from Occidental College in Critical Theory and Social Justice. After graduating in 2016, she worked as a paralegal for an IP firm focused on tech start-ups in California. She quickly realized that the legal field was not for her and is now thrilled to be surrounded by creative minds at KBD!
Fun Facts: When she’s not working, Tess spends her time making pottery, rock climbing, tending to house plants, and walking her rambunctious pup, Juno.
